Greek Women as Depicted on Ancient Greek Coins

The presentation by George Dervis will draw upon various chronological examples, of women, mythological and real personalities who appear on ancient coins. Their place in society and how their coins demonstrated their power. The time periods covered will span the ages from ancient Greece, into the Late Eastern Roman Empire, and finally, into the “Romaion” (Byzantine) Empire.
