Maria completed her BS in the Department of Biology at the University of Crete. She completed her MS and PhD in Basic Neurosciences, at the University of Crete in the Department of Medicine. She speaks Greek, English and French. She currently holds an appointment as a Research Associate Professor at the University of Chicago in the Department of Neurology.
