The National Hellenic Museum’s flagship building in the heart of Chicago’s historic Greektown neighborhood is the work of Greek American architect Demetrios Stavrianos of RTKL Associates. Rather than focusing solely on Greece’s ancient past or Classical design, the limestone and glass building synthesizes elements of both antiquity and Byzantine Christian architecture. A remarkable rooftop event space offers an unconventional view of the skyline and Jane Byrne Circle Interchange.
